Though she famously declined to have her portrait done by fellow artist friends, including Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso, Coco Chanel invited Marion Pike to her Paris atelier at 31 rue Cambon a mere three days after the two met. So pleased was Chanel with Pike’s paintings, the first of which was made in 1967 when Chanel was 84 and Pike 54, that she prominently displayed them alongside her spring 1968 collection. CODA is honored to represent Marion Pike and this iconic portrait which is now on view in the gallery during El Paseo's Fashion Week.
