Henry Royer Biography

American

Henry Royer, a native of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and raised in Duluth, Minnesota, nurtured an artistic upbringing in a home replete with creative pursuits. His outdoor experiences ignited his passion for working with earth-based materials such as wood, stone, and metal.

Following his graduation from City College in New York City with a Philosophy degree, Henry dedicated himself to his craft, sculpting and creating functional art. Over the span of three decades, he skillfully combined fundamental materials—steel, stone, and wood—into sculptural furniture, crafting artistic pieces for both residential and commercial settings. His furniture has been exhibited in prestigious showrooms across the United States, including New York, Boston, Washington D.C., Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

Recently, Henry transitioned his furniture business to his daughter, Avery, with whom he had collaborated for over 17 years. In this new phase, Henry has fully dedicated his focus to sculpture. Throughout his illustrious 50-year career as a sculptor, Henry has crafted a diverse range of works, from intimate tabletop pieces to expansive outdoor installations. These creations are now proudly displayed in private collections throughout the nation. His artistry consistently explores the harmonious interplay between stone, metal, and wood, celebrating the inherent beauty of natural materials through both form and function.
