CARRIE GRABER
Spaces & Stories

Carrie Graber, a Southern California native, draws inspiration from the warm, glowing light of the region, which is central to her work as a master genre painter. Her style blends the light-focused traditions of Luminists and the Hudson River School with Pop art influences, capturing the unique SoCal light with precision. Graber graduated with distinction from Art Center College of Design and studied under notable artists like Burne Hogarth and Aldo Luongo, who later sponsored her early career.

Her work, characterized by a fascination with figure, form, light, and shadow, has been exhibited worldwide. In addition to painting, Graber is a furniture designer, modern art collector, and advocate for architectural preservation with architect Dion Neutra. Her exploration of beauty and form reflects her belief in the harmony between function and aesthetics. With warm tones, controlled illumination, and bold compositions, Graber’s work, often compared to Vermeer, captures the beauty and intimacy of overlooked environments.
