B. Valencia, Spain 1968
Amparo Dominguez holds a Fine Arts degrees from the University of Valencia, Spain. Towards the end of her studies she met another fine arts student, Jesus Llopis. They immediately started creating together. This this unique collaborative partnership and relationship continued to grow. They married and their work together continued to evolve. Dominquez and Llopis further developed their creative work which led to diverse exhibitions in Italy and Spain. In time, they founded their artistic group “Trafic d’Art” which conceptualizes and creates artwork as a team.
Amparo is a multidisciplinary artist, painter, and sculptor. One of her primary subjects are torn comic paintings. Here Amparo shows two of her passions, comics and classic retro advertising. In her last year at the University she worked as a graphic designer at an advertising agency. This experience augmented her interest in transforming iconic marketing and images. Amparo brings to the present a contemporary approach. The tears in her composition represent the passage of time. She masterly combines the beloved comic world with nostalgic billboard advertising from another era.
Dominguez works are featured in many individual and collective exhibits and hang in private collections around the world. She also has been awarded several awards listed below.
